As dedicated bibliophiles, in addition to curating mixed-brief libraries around the globe, we also participate in and programme a number of industry events each year. As well as running our own literary salon with our partner Firmdale Hotels, we also attend a number of hospitality, design and book events throughout the year. You can find out more about these events and buy tickets using the links below.
In partnership with Firmdale Hotels, we host regular book salon that takes place in one of Firmdale’s London-based venues. These are intimate events, convivial in tone, where the author is asked to read an excerpt from their book, which is then followed by a Q&A and signing. The atmosphere is cosy and informal, usually held in one of the libraries or small drawing rooms in the Firmdale Hotels, which have been designed by Kit Kemp as communal spaces which are perfect for creativity, discussion and relaxation.
Since starting the salons last year, we have featured a variety of fantastic authors such as William Boyd, Adam Kay, Isabella Tree, Kassia St Clair and Rosie Price. Our programme is expanding in the New Year with the introduction of children’s salons. The children’s salons will be held on Saturdays during the school holidays, and will be paired with afternoon tea at one of Firmdale’s London Hotels. We hope to be able to hold one of our book salons every 4 – 6 weeks from the start of 2020.
You can also find us at a number of other hospitality and design events throughout the year. For example, in both 2018 and 2019 we were the primary bookseller for Sweaty Betty Live. We also attend a number of hospitality and design shows year round, from the World Travel Market to Sleep + Eat at Olympia London.

But their idyll cannot last. Stopping off to see Bea’s brother at his crumbling hotel, the trio are joined unexpectedly by Bea’s ultra-wealthy parents. Dan has never understood Bea’s deep discomfort around them but living together in such close proximity he begins to sense something is very wrong. Chosen as one of the hottest-tipped debut novelists of 2019 by The Guardian, Rosie Price will be speaking about her book, What Red Was, at the Soho Hotel. As well as introducing her new voice to fiction, What Red Was, was the first British novel to be chosen as ‘Book of the Month’ by the influential Instagram book club Belletrist back in September.
