Le Bristol Paris is an established luxury hotel situated on Rue St Honoré, a short walk from the Louvre and Palais-Royal. The property, in the heart of Paris, sits on both Rue St Honore and Avenue Matignon. It boasts a central courtyard, a Michelin starred restaurant and upper floor swimming pool aimed at guests looking for a wonderfully luxurious hotel stay.

Ultimate Library was asked to curate a bespoke collection of books for the hotel’s ‘Press Junket’. Le Bristol were looking for a collection of books on the visual arts spanning from the roaring twenties to the present day that would create a ‘sense of place’ and echo the function of the space, as a press centre for international film stars.

For Le Bristol Paris, we put together a bespoke collection of 165 hardback reading titles and 20 illustrated titles intended for the Library shelves in the Press Junket living room. Books on actors and films from Hollywood to Cannes were married with books on French culture and heritage. In order to create a truly authentic Library feel we included books both in English and in French to appeal to both foreigners and locals.

We were lucky enough to travel to this amazing hotel to install this beautiful collection. It was here that we were able to see the library, and Le Bristol, in all of its glory. It was truly an incredibly exciting and creative project to have worked on.

“After seeing what Ultimate Library had created for the Lanesborough in London, we wanted to partner with the book curators on a special project for Le Bristol in Paris. The Press Junket room at Le Bristol in Paris is an important centre of activity for the international film industry. We were looking for a bespoke book collection on the visual arts, and especially cinema, for our guests. Ultimate Library created a beautiful collection of books in both English and French that really spoke to that sense of ‘intelligent luxury’. It is thanks to touches like this that sets The Oetker Collection apart.
